Furniture Giant 'Haven Living' Unveils Groundbreaking Circular Design Collection, Redefining Industry Sustainability Standards
COPENHAGEN, Denmark – March 10, 2024 – In a significant move that signals a shift towards a more sustainable future for the home furnishings sector, industry leader Haven Living today announced the launch of "Circularity," a pioneering furniture collection designed entirely for disassembly, repair, and recycling.
The new line, unveiled at the prestigious Copenhagen Furniture Fair, addresses one of the industry's most pressing challenges: waste. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, over 12 million tons of furniture waste are generated annually in the United States alone, with most ending up in landfills. Haven Living's "Circularity" collection aims to disrupt this linear "take-make-dispose" model.
"Our industry has reached an inflection point. Consumers are demanding more than just aesthetics; they are demanding responsibility," said Clara Sørensen, Chief Sustainability Officer at Haven Living, during the launch keynote. "With 'Circularity,' we are not just selling a product; we are offering a lifelong partnership. Every piece is an investment in a healthier planet."
Key Features of the 'Circularity' Collection:
Modular Design: Sofas, shelving units, and tables are composed of interchangeable modules, allowing customers to easily reconfigure, repair, or replace individual components instead of discarding the entire item.
Monomaterials & Non-Toxic Adhesives: Products are constructed using single-type materials, such as solid FSC-certified oak and 100% recycled PET fabric, making them far easier to recycle. Traditional glues are replaced with innovative mechanical fastenings and non-toxic, reversible adhesives.
Digital Passports: Each item comes with a QR code providing a "material passport." This details the product's origin, composition, and repair instructions, and allows owners to seamlessly initiate Haven Living's "Buy-Back" program.
Enhanced Buy-Back & Refurbishment Program: The company has significantly expanded its commitment to reselling returned or refurbished items, ensuring products stay in use for as long as possible.
Industry analysts have praised the initiative. "Haven Living is setting a new benchmark," commented Michael Thorne, Principal Analyst at Furnishings Market Insights. "This isn't a niche, eco-friendly line. This is a core collection from a major player, which forces the entire industry to pay attention. We anticipate this will accelerate the adoption of circular principles across the board, from design to supply chain logistics."
The "Circularity" collection, including the popular "Apex" modular sofa and "Terra" dining table, will be available in flagship stores and online beginning May 1, 2024.
About Haven Living: Haven Living is a global furniture retailer known for its Scandinavian-inspired design, quality, and commitment to creating a better everyday life. With over 350 stores in 40 countries, the company has embarked on an ambitious journey to become a fully circular business by 2035.
